Securing hydro for the future
PGE and the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs have begun the process of restoring fish passage on the Deschutes River. Visit our new Web site, DeschutesPassage.com to learn how PGE and the Tribes (co-owners of the Pelton Round Butte Hydro Project) are building a 273-foot underwater tower and fish collection facility.
With the fish passage and habitat restoration enhancements in place, Pelton Round Butte will be certified as a low impact facility. This means the electricity produced there will be counted as part of PGE’s renewable energy portfolio, securing this valuable energy resource for the future. On this special Web site, you can view videos and photos of the project, get the latest project news and learn how the project will benefit the Central Oregon economy.
